I'm writing this post at 2am Russia time. The last couple of days have had some great highs and we now are dealing with probably the lowest time that either of us has ever had to deal with. We had some initial concerns with both of the children that we had hoped were over reactions on our part, however after reviewing all of the data and photos with our doctor in the U.S. our initial concerns were confirmed. We are very regretably choosing to not accept the referral for these two beautiful children as we feel their needs might be more than we can provide at this time.
We are extending our stay in Russia thru at least Tuesday in hopes of receiving a referral for a child/ren that will best fit both their needs and our abilities to meet those needs in the future.
Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts as we have never felt pain such as this and we know this decision will now be part of our lives forever.
Please pray that Nina and Ivan find a lovingly family that can meet their needs.

Jeff and Dawn,
Hang in there, and know that you have eachother and friends and family during this trying time. Know that you made the best decision for your family! We are praying for you and for Ivan and Nina.
Good Luck to you on the remainder of your trip.
Adrian
Dawn and Jeff,
Adrian gave me your link and Mike and I have been following along. Our prayers are with you. It's hard to understand why we have to go through these things until God's plan unfolds at the end. I remember people telling us during painful times that all would be ok and that "the blessing to come will be bigger", but we couldn't see it at the time...You WILL have your happy ending. Try to hang onto that. Fondly, Melanie (from Waiting Family Group)
Dawn and Jeff,
We are so sorry that you had to make this agonizing decision. As you know we lost our first referral. I still have the pictures of those children and it's been a year. We really hope that you guys get a new referral on this trip. It will make things easier all around. It won't make the hurt from the first referral go away but it will give you new things to focus on. Please let us know if we can do anything to help you.
Kristin and Eric
